Let’s get down to brass tacks: A vegan and allergy-friendly snack is a treat that doesn’t include meat, eggs, or dairy or other animal-derived ingredients (which makes it vegan) and also doesn’t contain gluten, soy, or nuts.

When you take a peek at the vegan food scene, it’s hard not to miss the nuts included in many popular plant-based foods, including almond milk, cashew cream, nut-based cheeses, and other nut butters. That’s all fine and dandy—unless, of course, tree nuts or peanuts cause your body to go into full-on attack mode (or worse, anaphylactic shock) because of an allergy.

It’s totally possible to save approximately 200 animals per year as a happy, healthy, and completely nut-free vegan. It’s easier than you think.

Here’s a list of our favorite vegan and allergy-free snacks to give you a taste of the many companies that are adding such treats to their product lines.

Enjoy Life Protein Bites

Enjoy Life is basically the Holy Grail of allergy-friendly brands. The brand’s packaging is teal, which is the official color of allergy awareness. These scrumptious morsels are available in four flavors, including Dark Raspberry and Dipped Banana. They make a great post-workout snack.

We also love that the company indulges us with two lines of allergy-friendly cookies: soft baked and crunchy.

No Whey! Foods Chocolate Large Peanut Butter Cups

Peanot Butter Cups are made from allergen-friendly sunflower seeds, so you can have your cups and eat them, too.

MadeGood Granola Bars

True to their name, MadeGood bars are made from pure, whole ingredients. Choose from allergy-friendly Mixed Berry, Chocolate Chip, Apple Cinnamon, and Chocolate Banana flavors.

Daiya Chocolate Fudge Crunch Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Bar

Feast your eyes on this coconut milk ice cream bar, which features a fudge ribbon and is dipped in dark chocolate and pumpkin seeds. (By the way, all Daiya products are allergy-friendly! Huzzah!)

Pipcorn

We love all four flavors, but we’re especially addicted to the Vegan Caramel.

Divvies’ Caramel Corn

Dive into Divvies’ Caramel Corn the next time you reach for a snack. But if you really have a sweet tooth, you might prefer the Kettle Corn.

Annie’s Organic Fruit Tape and Fruit Snacks

Whether you prefer in tape or morsel form, both make perfect lunch-pail snacks for kids.

Amy’s Kitchen Wraps and Burritos

We’ve relied on Amy’s for many a midday protein pick-me-up.

Wink Frozen Desserts

With so many natural ingredients at play, we can justify taste-testing all 12 allergy-friendly flavors.

Go Raw Sprouted Cookies and Bites

We’re intrigued whenever we can count a product’s ingredients on one hand, and we weren’t disappointed with Go Raw’s plant-powered ingredients lists.

Ruffles Original Potato Chips

Hey, if it ain’t broke! Potato chips are the original allergen-friendly snack.
