FOX Will Give Thanks for Mutts on Thanksgiving Day

Published by Michelle Reynolds.

You already know that rescued dogs make the best friends—now everyone who tunes in to FOX on Thanksgiving night will know it, too.

Jane Lynch with Two Dogs

The two-hour special FOX’s Cause for Paws: An All-Star Dog Spectacular—hosted by Hilary Swank and our good friend Jane Lynch—is a star-studded “celebration of rescue[d] dogs and the joy they bring to our lives.” The FOX special is a welcome counter to a competing network’s dog show that promotes breeding and buying purebred dogs.

Millions of homeless dogs and cats sit in shelters waiting for good homes, and breeders kill their chances of ever finding one. So thank you to FOX for stepping up to celebrate the beloved mutt and help curb the overpopulation crisis by promoting adopting over breeding and buying dogs! And as if that weren’t enough, FOX plans to honor one special animal advocate with an award for his life’s work helping animals. We don’t want to give it away, but here are some hints (spoiler alert):

After you’ve eaten your Tofurky, catch FOX’s celebration of rescued dogs and encourage everyone you know to adopt, never buy.
