Video: Man Tries to Take Newborn Calf; Cow Intervenes

Published by PETA.

Many people don’t know that cows produce milk only for their babies, just like humans and all other mammals. However, on dairy farms, female cows are artificially impregnated, separated from their babies, and forced to repeat the harrowing process to keep up with the human demand for their milk. Once they’re no longer useful, they’re sent to slaughter.

Cows are very maternal and can form strong bonds with their babies. They’ll cry out and search for their young after the calves have been taken from them, sometimes within minutes of being born.

It’s likely that the “attacker” in this video was a friend of the new mother and perhaps had her own babies taken away from her in the past.

You can help end this suffering right now. Go vegan today, and kick meat and dairy products to the curb.
