PETA Persuades Japan’s Largest Flavor Company to End Cruel Animal Tests

Following discussions with PETA, Takasago International Corporation—Japan’s largest flavor and aroma company—is banning all animal tests to establish health claims for marketing ingredients, including tests funded through universities and third-party research organizations. Before adopting this public policy, Takasago funded an experiment in which mice’s skulls were removed with an electric grinder, chemicals were injected into their brains, their heads were cut off, and they were dissected.
