Many people are under the misconception that when animals are used in household-product testing, only the final product is used on them, when in fact, they’re also subjected to testing for chemicals and other ingredients used in these products. Animals are often forced to inhale or swallow chemicals or have them dripped into their eyes, which causes swelling, discharge, ulceration, hemorrhaging, cloudiness, or even blindness. Rabbits—who are often victims of this abuse because of their docile nature—and other animals used for product testing are killed after the experiment is over.
