There comes a time in everyone’s life when brunch is the most important meal of the week. It’s not just a meal—it’s a way of life. So here, we present one of the most epic brunches that ever brunched: the fried chicken and waffle burger. The best part of this burger is that it’s stacked with delicious plant-based bacon and homemade cruelty-free vegan fried chicken. You know you can’t look away.

We started with our favorite vegan fried chicken recipe by SolFood Vegan.

After the seitan patties were battered and fried, we whipped up some waffles using a simple recipe. (Some varieties of Bisquick work, too, if you use dairy-free milk and an egg replacer.)

Then we layered our crispy waffles:


Homemade seitan chicken or ATLAS MONROE Extra Crispy Chick’n Breast:


Vegan cheese (we used Follow Your Heart slices):


Vegan bacon (we used Sweet Earth Hickory & Sage Smoked Seitan Bacon):

And we could have stopped there. But we didn’t.

We topped this beauty with mashed potatoes and gravy:
