Açaí bowls are the latest food craze. They consist of a smoothie base topped with ingredients such as fruit, nuts, and granola. The açaí berry is a fruit native to the rainforests of South America. It’s an antioxidant-rich superfood containing nutrients that promote our overall health. Recently, açaí bowls have become popular at restaurants, but they’re also easy to make at home! Unfortunately, some eateries add dairy “products,” honey, or other animal-derived ingredients to their bowls, which is no fun for animals. We’ve compiled a list of 11 quick and simple vegan bowls, organized into four different categories: classic, berry, chocolaty, and green.

Classic Bowls

1. Classic Açaí Bowl

This recipe takes only five minutes to prep and calls for just three ingredients for the base.

2. Peanut Butter Açaí Bowl

This smoothie also takes only five minutes to create, and it features peanut butter for extra creaminess.

3. My Favorite Açaí Bowl

You won’t even taste the subtle greens among all the rich fruit in this recipe.

Berry Bowls

4. Mango Raspberry Açaí Bowl

Who wouldn’t enjoy a combo of mango and raspberry? Refreshing and super healthy.

5. Berry Beet Açaí Bowl

Raw, vegan, paleo, and gluten-free, this smoothie takes just 10 minutes to whip up and is a great way to sneak in a surprise ingredient: beets.

6. Açaí Berry Mint Ice Cream

This recipe calls for açaí berry capsules, which are made from 100 percent pure Amazonian açaí powder. The base is super-thick—like ice cream.

Chocolaty Bowls

7. Chocolate Almond Açaí Bowl

Gluten-free, protein-rich, costs less than $4, and a healthy way to eat chocolate—count me in!

8. Chocolate Banana Açaí Bowl

OK, so most açaí bowls already include bananas for thickness, but this one also calls for dark chocolate, requires only 10 minutes of prep time, and serves two.

9. Mighty Mango Açaí Bowl

Requiring only 20 minutes of prep time, this bowl yields one to two servings. This smoothie calls for spinach but tastes like mango.

Green Bowls

10. Green Tea Lime Pie Smoothie Bowl

Packed with coconut water, spinach, banana and avocado, you can’t get much healthier than this gorgeous green bowl.

11. Spinach Açaí Bowl

This one takes only five minutes to prep. Top it off with raspberries, granola, coconut flakes, and cacao nibs.
