Açaí bowls are the latest food craze. They consist of a smoothie base topped with ingredients such as fruit, nuts, and granola. The açaí berry is a fruit native to the rainforests of South America. It’s an antioxidant-rich superfood containing nutrients that promote our overall health. Recently, açaí bowls have become popular at restaurants, but they’re also easy to make at home! Unfortunately, some eateries add dairy “products,” honey, or other animal-derived ingredients to their bowls, which is no fun for animals.
