Get FREE Stickers to Help Sheep

Fact of the daySheep in the wool industry suffer just as much as other animals suffer in the fur industry. Don’t believe it? Well, PETA and our international affiliates have captured extensive footage inside numerous shearing sheds and farms across the U.S., Australia, South America, and the U.K. showing workers jabbing sheep in the face with electric clippers, punching them, standing on their heads and necks, and throwing them across the filthy shearing floor.

Most people who buy wool or wool-blend hats, scarves, and sweaters from stores like Forever 21 have no idea that the material comes from abused sheep. But the company sure knows—because we’ve shared this information with it numerous times and caring consumers have urged it to take action. Yet it chooses to continue to sell wool despite being aware that sheep are beaten, mutilated, and barbarically killed in the wool industry.

It’s our duty to stand up against speciesism. Sheep aren’t ours to abuse, and their wool isn’t ours to take. It’s high time that we canceled the brand’s cruelty, because no sweater or hat is worth the suffering of living, feeling beings. As consumers, we have the power to prevent Forever 21 from making more blood money to add to its billions—and we have the opportunity to choose from countless items made of vegan textiles that don’t require breeding animals, holding them captive, and stealing from them for profit.

“Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather, and going to circuses and zoos. We never considered the impact of these actions on the animals involved. For whatever reason, you are now asking the question: Why should animals have rights?” READ MORE
