Officials in Port Isabel, Texas, made the compassionate decision to bar Carson & Barnes Circus from performing with animals during its shows on February 19 and 20. This circus has a decades-long history of abusing animals—which includes failing to provide them with basic necessities, such as adequate veterinary care, sufficient space, shelter from the elements, and clean water. This victory is yet another sign that the public doesn’t want to see animals forced to perform confusing and often painful tricks. Now, please speak up for those who are slated to be exploited at other venues across the country.
