New Legislation to Protect Dogs in Virginia Beach, Virginia

January 2005

For many months, PETA worked with Virginia Beach officials to address the cruelty and danger of sentencing dogs to life at the end of a chain. Thanks to our efforts and the support of the community, there is now a new ordinance in place that prohibits the chaining of dogs for more than three hours per day. Violators face a $250 fine.
