Hull Storey Retail Group Bans Exotic-Animal Displays

January 2004

PETA received complaints from mall shoppers that an exotic-animal display called “The Zoo” was set up at Victoria Mall in Texas. We contacted the mall manager, as well as the CEO of Hull Storey Retail Group, which owns the mall, asking that the company prohibit animal displays at all its locations. We also posted an action alert calling for letters to the company. Subsequently, the company decided that it would not allow animal exhibits at any of its nearly 50 locations in the Southeastern U.S. and Texas.
