Brookdale Senior Living Takes a Stand Against Cruelty

Brookdale Senior Living, Inc., the largest senior living community owner and operator in the country, has taken a big step against animal abuse. After one of its communities recently visited the Bearadise Ranch roadside zoo in Florida, PETA informed Brookdale about the cruelty inherent in keeping wild animals captive in roadside zoos and forcing them to perform tricks, and the company committed to never organizing visits to the facility again! Some of the bears are carted across the country in cramped cages and made to do tricks that have no meaning to them, like pulling hoops over their heads and balancing on balls.
