Victory! Luxury Brand Balmain Bans Fur

Following pressure from PETA and its supporters, French luxury fashion house Balmain has announced that it’s going fur-free. Balmain follows in the footsteps of the hundreds of compassionate designers and retailers around the world—including Armani, Burberry, Coach, Gucci, Prada, and Versace—that have banned fur, most of which comes from animals who spend their entire lives inside filthy, cramped wire cages before being electrocuted, bludgeoned, suffocated, or even skinned alive.
