Styles P Brings Passion for Plants to His Community

Rapper Styles P has a lighter soul and a newfound respect for all life. And that’s all thanks to eating plants.

Nearly two decades after forming successful hip-hop group The Lox, Styles P has once again found success with childhood friend and fellow MC Jadakiss. And this time, the duo is focused on bringing healthy vegan fare to their native city, New York.

Juices for Life aims to become a worldwide brand bringing healthy food to neighborhoods commonly known as “food deserts” that lack access to healthy foods. The juice bar is spreading the message that “love is love” throughout the Bronx, Yonkers, and Brooklyn—and it applies to humans and other animals alike.

Going vegan is as good for human health as it is for helping animals—something Styles P has experienced firsthand. “I feel great, but it’s the plant-based diet. It keeps me going. It keeps me tickin’. It keeps me motivated. It keeps me feeling good,” he says in the exclusive PETA video.

Once he went vegan, he says that he developed a deeper empathy for animals and arrived at this key realization: There is no reason we should treat one animal as a friend and another as food.

“I love all animals,” he comments in the video. “I started looking at a cow like my dog. Like, I love my dog. If I wasn’t trained that a dog is your companion, would I treat the dog how I treat the cow?”

When it comes to experiencing all life’s joys and sorrows, we know there is no difference between a dog or a pig and a human. Styles P’s message to fans is ultimately just as simple: “Respect plants. Respect animals. Watch what ya eat.”

And we couldn’t agree more.
