Actor Emily Deschanel: ‘Meat’s Not Green’

Actor Emily Deschanel is best known for her role as Dr. Temperance Brennan on the popular FOX crime drama Bones. On the show, the talented actor plays a beautiful and brainy forensic anthropologist. Offscreen, Emily proves she’s just as smart when she says that there’s no such thing as a meat-eating environmentalist in a “Meat’s Not Green” ad for PETA.

Emily knows that choosing a vegan diet is the best thing that you can do for the environment. In fact, the meat industry is the leading source of the greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change. According to the United Nations, raising animals for food is “one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global.”

As Emily mentions in her ad, adopting a vegan diet has a greater impact in the fight against climate change than switching to a hybrid car or switching to energy-efficient light bulbs. Isn’t it time for you to try going vegan?
