Baked Tempeh Bacon

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. tempeh, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 Tbsp. liquid smoke
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 2 Tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Combine the soy sauce, liquid smoke, oil, maple syrup, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in a bowl and mix until well combined.
  • Dip the tempeh slices into the mixture until evenly coated and place onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle half the remaining marinade over them.
  • Bake for 7 minutes, then flip the slices over and drizzle on the rest of the marinade.
  • Bake for 8 more minutes.

Makes 4 to 6 servings
