As seen in this adorable video, Carl the kitten has discovered a surprising neighbor living in the room next to his during his first days at PETA’s shelter: a chicken named Loretta, whom he was quite keen to meet!
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—found Carl abandoned in a Virginia trailer park in the middle of winter, and Loretta was given up by a woman who could no longer take care of her. Both have since been adopted into vegan homes, and more information is available at PETA.org.
