PETA Supporters Will Alert High School Seniors to University's Cruel Muscular Dystrophy Experiments on Dogs

Houston – What: As prospective students and their parents arrive for an information session at the Texas A&M University (TAMU) Prospective Student Center in Houston on Tuesday, PETA supporters will urge them to look elsewhere for their education until TAMU shuts down its canine muscular dystrophy laboratory.
When: Tuesday, September 18, 6–7 p.m.
Where: Texas A&M Prospective Student Center, 1225 N. Loop W., #200, Houston
PETA will share video footage of TAMU’s laboratories showing dogs who were deliberately bred to develop a crippling and painful form of muscular dystrophy struggling to walk, swallow, and even breathe and then being experimented on.
“Four decades of dogs’ suffering haven’t led to a cure or successful treatment for humans with muscular dystrophy,” says PETA Senior Vice President Kathy Guillermo. “PETA is urging prospective students to stay away from TAMU and its cruel dog laboratory.”
