In an effort to promote greener eating, Casa de Reyes has teamed up with PETA to offer its first vegan menu, which will be unveiled to the public as part of Old Town’s Mexican Independence Day celebration on September 13. Menu items will include vegan fajitas, tacos, enchiladas and more. Inviting the public to try Casa de Reyes’ vegan dishes will be two PETA members in chili pepper outfits.

When:   Saturday, September 13, 12-4 p.m.

Where:  Casa de Reyes, 2754 Calhoun St. (Old Town), San Diego

“Casa de Reyes’ vegan menu is a good move for animals and for the health of our community,” says PETA Latino coordinator Renée Saldaña. “PETA Latino encourages everyone to try delicious vegan meals. Not only do they save animals from immense suffering on factory farms, in slaughterhouses, and on the decks of fishing boats, they can also help stave off heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and obesity—some of the worst health problems afflicting Latinos in the U.S.”
