Last year, China implemented a new rule for Chinese-owned cosmetics companies that manufacture domestically, which gives them the option to market their products without testing them on animals. (Cosmetics companies from other countries that want to sell in China are required to pay for tests on animals.) One of the first companies to proclaim that it never tests on animals is Eco&more, a company that sells plant-based, biodegradable home and personal-care products.
It has signed PETA’s statement of assurance pledging that is does not and never will poison animals in archaic tests, and it has now become the first Chinese company to join our Beauty Without Bunnies program. In recognition of this, we also honored Eco&more with our PETA Compassionate Business Award.
Eco&more believes that “change begins with the little things in life and little changes begin at home.” That’s why it’s committed to providing customers with vegan, ecologically sustainable products that haven’t been forced down animals’ throats, dripped into their eyes, or smeared onto their scraped skin. Eco&more is paving the way for more Chinese companies to follow suit and end painful tests on animals.
To raise awareness about environmental issues, Eco&more conducts monthly workshops, has a refill program to cut down on waste, and holds classes on how to make products at home, such as cruelty-free soy candles.
Do your part to prevent animals from being poisoned and killed by always shopping cruelty-free. Eco&more and other animal-friendly brands in our Beauty Without Bunnies online database are just a few clicks away.
