ICYMI: New Vegan Products From Natural Products Expo You Gotta Try

Published by Melinda McKee.

If you’ve never heard of Natural Products Expo, you’re in for a treat. It’s a trade show that exhibits food, beauty, and household products with a kazillion cruelty-free and vegan options. We went to Natural Products Expo West, which was held in Anaheim, California, this weekend. We’re still dreaming about the indulgences and wanted to make you totally envious let you share in our delight. The following are just a few of the delicious products we tried:

Miyoko’s Kitchen European Style Cultured VeganButter and Fresh Vegan Mozzarella

It wasn’t just us who loved this vegan butter—Miyoko’s Kitchen won a NEXTY award for it, which is given to the “most progressive, innovative, inspiring and trustworthy products” at the event.

Miyoko’s Kitchen also wowed us with a vegan fresh mozzarella-style cheese, perfect for a caprese salad.

Daiya Pepperoni Pizza and Salad Dressing

Daiya had a gorgeous booth set up with all the goodies we know and love as well as some new treats. It was tough to stop at just one slice of the brand-new vegan pepperoni pizza, especially drizzled with the company’s new ranch dressing.

Follow Your Heart Parmesan and VeganEgg

Follow Your Heart’s booth was so much fun that we didn’t want to leave! We hung out and shared a mimosa while enjoying a sampling of breakfast treats served by Heather and Jenny from Spork Foods. The quiche, lemon poppyseed muffins, and breakfast burrito showcased Follow Your Hearts’s new gluten- and soy-free products such as tortillas, VeganEgg, and Parmesan cheese.

Tofurky Burgers, Pockets, and Pizzas

We got to try Tofurky’s new White Quinoa Burgers and saw promotions for Hearty Hemp and Spicy Black Bean burgers. Yum!

The Ham & Cheese Style Pockets, Pepperoni Pizza Pockets, Barbecue Chick’n Pizza, and Pesto Supreme Pizza are sure to be crowd-pleasers.

Gardein Skillet Meals, Breakfast Pockets, and Pizza Pockets

With four varieties of Skillet Meals for 2, Meatless Pepperoni Pizza Pockets, and Vegan Scramble Breakfast Pockets, you can say we were in heaven.

Sir Kensington’s Fabanaise

One of the things we loved most about this expo was the collaboration among all our favorite companies. We tried this new egg-free mayo made with aquafaba (juice from a can of chickpeas) in a Beyond Meat chicken salad sandwich and just want to eat that forever. Fabanaise comes in both classic and chipotle flavors, so all your mayo needs are set.

There were so many great things to see this weekend, and we couldn’t catch them all. But one thing was clear: 2016 is #TheYearofVegan.

Keep an eye out for all these products at your local grocery or health-food store.
