Video: Bears Trapped in Cages Half-Submerged in Flood in Russia

Published by PETA.

A video has surfaced of bears trapped in cages at a zoo in Russia. They’re half-submerged and reaching from their cages to accept food from workers who approached them on rafts:

Photos on social media show the bears clinging to the bars of their rusty cages and reaching out:

According to a local news source, one bear and multiple goats have already drowned from this heavy rainfall in Russia’s Far East. Animals in captivity, like these bears, are at the mercy of the humans who imprison them for entertainment. The least that the zoo could have done for these animals would have been to have an evacuation plan to keep them safe.

What You Can Do

Never patronize zoos or any other place that uses live animals for entertainment.
