PETA’s year-end fundraiser took place on Saturday, November 13, and as a part of it, we’re hosting an online auction that’s running right now. It ends at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT on Monday, November 15. Here are just a few of the exciting items available:
1. Hang Out Virtually With PETA President Ingrid Newkirk
Do you have some burning questions and points of passion to discuss with an animal rights expert? Well, you’re in luck! A virtual meet and greet with PETA President Ingrid Newkirk and a signed copy of her new book, 250 Vital Things Your Cat Wants You to Know, will be up for grabs. You’d better start brainstorming those purrfect questions.
2. The McCruelty Chicken Statue Is Ready for a Permanent Home
It’s been a while since this hen strutted her stuff to tell McDonald’s that we are not lovin’ the cruelty that its menu inflicts on animals, so it’s time she had a happy retirement with one lucky PETA supporter.
3. No Pair Is Better Than Kermit and Miss Piggy
We all get a kick out of the emotional roller coaster that is Miss Piggy and Kermit’s tumultuous Muppet romance. Now, your little piggies can get a kick out of it, too, since these adidas shoes are vegan! They’re made with Primegreen, a mix of high-performance recycled materials. The Stan Smith adidas line is good for animals, the planet, and your personal style, so get your bid ready.
4. Have the Best Seat in the House With Valencia’s Vegan Recliner
Made out of apples, this luxurious vegan recliner will keep you comfortable for years to come. In addition to turning some of the 5.2 billion pounds of apples that would otherwise end up in landfills into Nappa leather, Valencia also uses ethically sourced wood and runs its factories on 80% renewable energy. This chair will definitely be a great spot to veg out, so place your bid ASAP.
5. Take a Break in (Southern) Comfort
After a year of lockdown, the wanderlust itch is likely starting—and PETA has a fantastic vacation open for bids in this year’s auction. Enjoy true southern hospitality and all the charm that South Carolina has to offer with a two-night stay at the Charleston Marriott. Overlooking the Ashley River, the hotel offers a beautiful view and a charming locale, with easy access to historic downtown Charleston. Spend the day exploring the old city market, The Citadel, area beaches, and local eateries. As the sun sets over the river, grab a cocktail from the Marriott’s rooftop bar or relax at the outdoor pool and courtyard.
6. Jam Out With Third Eye Blind
You may feel like you have a semi-charmed life, but there’s no way to feel blue when you’re rocking out at a Third Eye Blind concert that you and a friend have VIP tickets to. That’s right—you can bid on two VIP tickets to any show (except festivals or group shows) on Third Eye Blind’s 2022 lineup, so bid now.
7. Vegan Cheese, Please!
The vegan cheese from Miyoko’s Creamery makes it clear that you can have creamy goodness without hurting cows. This delightful item features a $100 gift basket full of the company’s phenomenal vegan cheeses, an apron, and a signed copy of Miyoko Schinner’s latest cookbook, The Vegan Meat Cookbook. If that got your stomach growling, you’d better make your bid fast.
If you haven’t registered for PETA’s “Always Delivering Results for Animals!” virtual auction yet, consider this your formal invitation. While you don’t have to register to view the auction items, you’ll be prompted to register once you start bidding, and with dozens of items as exciting as these, there’s no doubt that something will catch your eye.
