Congratulations, Gardein! The company’s tasty new Golden Fishless Filet has been named PETA’s 2014 Product of the Year!

Gardein’s fishless fillets are moist and flaky on the inside and crispy and golden on the outside. Each serving of two fish-free fillets contains only 180 calories, as well as 9 grams of protein and 32 milligrams of omega-3 fatty acids. And these cholesterol-free fillets have none of the mercury often found in fish flesh.

Fish and chips

They’re a convenient filling for tacos and sandwiches, and they’re also satisfying when served alongside fries, rice, or vegetables. And, best of all, the fishless fillets also spare intelligent, sensitive fish—who can learn tasks, use tools, and show affection—the immense pain of being dragged from the sea in nets or impaled on hooks.

PETA is grateful to Gardein for developing a great-tasting, healthy, humane, and truly sustainable fishless product, and we’re presenting the company with a framed award certificate acknowledging the Gardein Golden Fishless Filet as PETA’s 2014 Product of the Year.
