Overstock.com Bans Cashmere

PETA told Overstock.com that goats in the cashmere industry suffer—and often sustain deep cuts—when workers restrain them and use sharp metal combs to rip out their fleece. In response, Overstock made the kind decision to add cashmere to its list of prohibited materials, which includes angora, alpaca wool, badger hair, exotic skins, fur, and mohair. We sent the retailer a Compassionate Business Award and a delicious vegan cake in thanks. Please help us urge other companies to cut ties with the cruel cashmere industry: Click here to demand that H&M follow Overstock’s lead.
