Bahia Shrine Nixes Animal Circus After PETA and ARFF Campaign

Following dismal ticket sales and years of campaigning by PETA and the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida, the Bahia Shrine has finally heeded the public’s call for an end to cruel and dangerous animal acts by nixing its annual circus! The Shriners had contracted with some of the cruelest animal exhibitors in the business—including Carson & Barnes Circus, whose head trainer was caught on video viciously beating elephants with a bullhook and shocking them with an electric prod. The public is making it clear that it doesn’t want to see elephants shackled in chains or tigers whipped around a ring, and it’s choosing not to support this cruelty. Now, urge Carson & Barnes to stop exploiting animals.
