PETA Joins Law-Enforcement Officials in Search for Culprits Who Impaled Cow With Tractor Forks

On Tuesday, February 12, a cow was found dead on a farm in Hempfield Township, reportedly fatally impaled through her side by tractor forks. Authorities believe that at least two people were involved—one who knows how to operate a tractor and another who drove the getaway vehicle.

Police have yet to make any arrests in the case, prompting PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—to offer a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this crime.

“It takes a dangerous, callous person to spear a living being and leave her to die in agonizing pain,” says PETA Vice President Colleen O’Brien. “PETA is urging anyone with information about this case to come forward so that whoever killed this cow can be held accountable and stopped from hurting anyone else.”
