Pet Life Stores Ban Dyed Fish

PETA received a complaint from a woman after a Tetra fish she had purchased from a Pet Life store became very ill and ultimately died. When she returned to the store to alert the staff, an employee informed her that the fish came from a manufacturer that chemically injects the fish with dye to make their colors appear more vibrant. PETA contacted the company’s headquarters, alerting them to the cruelty of this process, and Pet Life subsequently sent out a companywide policy banning the purchase of these dyed fish.
