PETA Offers Reward of up to $3,000 to Find Stolen Tortoise and Convict Thieves

The Green Meadows Petting Farm in Ijamsville has reported that a person or persons entered the farm on the night of Monday, June 30, and stole a red-footed tortoise named Henrietta after spray-painting a mother pig and her babies with the words “Urbana Rules.” According to news reports, the vandals also dumped feed all over the barn. Police have yet to make any arrests in the case. PETA is offering up to $3,000 for information leading to the safe return of the missing tortoise and the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft and vandalism.

“We implore the public to come forward with any tips regarding the whereabouts of Henrietta and the thieves who stole her,” says PETA Director Martin Mersereau.
