The Bermans have always known that their 8-year-old daughter, Naomi, was the cutest kid around, and now, so does everyone else. That’s because Naomi has been chosen as the female winner of PETA Kids 2014 Cutest Vegan Kids contest. She beat out dozens of kids ages 12 and younger who don’t eat meat or unhealthy and cruelly obtained eggs and dairy products. She won a prize pack and the opportunity to appear in her very own PETA Kids ad.

“Naomi’s healthy diet and her love for and kindness to others—no matter their species—make her beautiful both inside and out,” says PETA Director of Youth Outreach and Campaigns Marta Holmberg. “All our entrants were already winners because they save animals’ lives and prevent their suffering every time that they sit down to eat.”

A vegan since age 1, Naomi isn’t shy about telling people why she doesn’t eat animals. “I have always been fascinated by animals and love all of them: big, small, wet, dry, furry, or feathered,” she says. “I love my chicken Speckles, and I would never, ever eat [chickens] or their eggs!” A devoted guardian of three cats, two dogs, and two chickens, Naomi organized a lemonade-stand fundraiser for the local animal shelter and plans to be a veterinarian when she grows up. “I would not ever want to eat or hurt an animal. Not for food or for fun,” she says.

Winners were selected based on several factors, including vote count. For more information, please visit PETAKids.com.
