PETA Wants Joe Namath’s Fur Coat

I saw that you did a story about Joe Namath’s fur coat at the Super Bowl, and I thought that you might be interested in the letter that PETA has just sent to the former quarterback suggesting that he repair the damage to his image by donating the coat to PETA.

“All you have to do is box it up and call FedEx. It’s easier than a coin toss!” writes PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange. “[W]e can do the same thing with yours that we do with other fur coats donated by people who’ve turned their backs on fur—as you said you had a few decades back—and cut it up to make coats for refugee children. Please, Joe, don’t be a turncoat.”
