Spartanburg, S.C. – Please see PETA’s letter of praise to Denny’s. Unlike just about everyone else, we find the turd-like sausage character a rare sign of truth in advertising, given the Government Accountability Project report on the massive amount of fecal matter found in meat (linked in the letter below).

PETA’s letter to Denny’s CEO and president, John C. Miller, follows.

John C. Miller

CEO and President

Denny’s

Dear Mr. Miller,

PETA would like to break away from the pack of those who are smearing you and congratulate you on the resemblance of Denny’s sausage character to feces. If there were ever truth in advertising, this is it. As this Vice report on the Government Accountability Project states, because of high-speed hog inspection practices, “it’s not whether or not people are going to eat shit—they are. It’s just how much.” As I’m sure you know, slaughterhouses are so filthy that every serving of sausage contains traces of pig poop—not to mention horrific cruelty. One way to wipe the plate clean would be to switch to vegan sausages.

Sincerely,

Dan Mathews

Senior Vice President

“Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather, and going to circuses and zoos. We never considered the impact of these actions on the animals involved. For whatever reason, you are now asking the question: Why should animals have rights?” READ MORE
