Yard sale, rummage sale, garage sale, tag sale—these fun summertime events can raise money to help animals. It’s a win-win-win: clearing clutter, catching up with your neighbors, and repurposing things you no longer want for someone in need.

That’s exactly what one PETA supporter recently did when she hosted a “Yard Sale for Animals” to benefit PETA’s tireless work. The day was packed with sunshine, sweet deals, and smiles—and every dollar raised is now helping to protect animals from cruelty.
With piles of books, home goods, clothes, and décor, this animal defender’s sale was the perfect way to give gently used items a second life.
Every purchase supported indispensable programs that help animals like spay/neuter surgeries, PETA’s doghouse program, PETA’s rescue team, and hard-hitting campaigns like our fight to end the Iditarod, and the violence against monkeys funded by the National Institutes of Health.
It’s always a good time to support our programs through a yard sale fundraiser. And thanks to PETA’s members and supporters, we have a miles-long list of victories for animals.

A sale is also an opportunity to spark conversations about animal rights and share that every animal is someone.
Including leaflets, signs, or even friendly chats about these topics can help shoppers walk away with more than just a great find—they’ll leave with a new perspective on how we can be kinder to our fellow animals.
