Marc Maron: Spaying and Neutering Saves Countless Animals’ Lives

Outspoken comedian Marc Maron wants people to “give a $#!t” and have their animal companions spayed or neutered. It’s a breeze—compared to having a bris—and your companions will live longer, healthier lives!

Watch PETA’s exclusive animated video and hear Marc talk about spaying and neutering! (And circumcision! And Manischewitz!)

A sad truth: There are more homeless animals than there are loving, responsible homes available to care for them. The simplest way to make a difference is to have all your animal companions spayed or neutered. The numbers are staggering: One unaltered female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in only six years. In seven years, one female cat and her offspring can produce an astounding 370,000 kittens!

More and more counties and cities all over the country are actively addressing the animal overpopulation crisis and requiring people who choose not to spay or neuter to register as a breeder and pay a hefty fee. The great news is that areas with mandatory spay-and-neuter laws have reported a significant reduction in the number of animals who are taken to facilities and euthanized.
