Wool isn’t simply the product of a haircut. It’s the result of shear torment.

In shearing facilities around the world, workers are usually paid by volume rather than the hour, which leads to hasty, careless shearing. And it’s much worse than a “bad haircut.” Shearers often cut off strips of sheep’s skin and even their teats, tails, and ears.

So PETA sent a team of animal advocates to Times Square to persuade people not to let the industry pull the wool over their eyes:
