Luxury Tour Operator Cuts Ties with the Iditarod

After hearing from PETA, Insight Vacations—a global luxury tour operator offering more than 100 itineraries across Europe, North Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Latin America—removed visits to an Iditarod musher’s kennel from its Alaskan tours and pledged not to promote the race again. Part of The Travel Corporation umbrella, alongside major brands like Trafalgar, Contiki, and Uniworld, Insight Vacations joins nearly every major company—including Alaska Airlines, Chrysler, Coca-Cola, ExxonMobil, Jack Daniels, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, State Farm, Panasonic, and Wells Fargo—in distancing itself from this cruel event. More than 150 dogs have died in the Iditarod, and many more are pulled from the trail each year due to injury, illness, or exhaustion. Every company that turns its back on the Iditarod helps weaken the financial support for this bloodsport. Everyone can help put an end to the Iditarod by taking action now to ask the last remaining race sponsors to follow suit.
