Gate 1 Travel Ends Tours That Feature Captive Elephants

After more than 85,000 PETA members and supporters told Gate 1 Travel that they oppose the use of elephants in the tourism industry, for which the animals are often forcibly separated from their mothers as babies, tied down, beaten mercilessly, and gouged with sharp weapons, the company stopped offering activities featuring captive elephants, joining dozens of other travel companies that have turned their backs on this abuse.
