Dade City’s Wild Things Ordered to Pay Fee Award to PETA

The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida recently ordered the now-shuttered Dade City’s Wild Things and its operators, Kathy and Randy Stearns, to pay nearly $400,000 to PETA in attorneys’ fees and expenses related to our Endangered Species Act lawsuit. We were previously awarded a default judgment and permanent injunction in the lawsuit barring the roadside zoo and the Stearnses from owning or possessing endangered tigers. Following the judgment, Dade City’s Wild Things shut down and the last six tigers held there were transferred to The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado.
