Days after hearing from PETA and thousands of our supporters, Coastal Farm & Home Supply canceled holiday displays exploiting live reindeer at more than a dozen of its stores across Oregon! Reindeer are herd animals who travel up to 1,000 miles during their annual migration, traversing the tundra and swimming across rivers. But for holiday displays, they’re exploited for photo ops and forced to interact with the public. When they’re not being used for these events, they’re kept at farms, rental facilities, and roadside zoos, where handlers often neglect them, including by failing to provide them with adequate veterinary care. Now, tell other venues planning to exploit reindeer this holiday season to go animal-free.
