More Than 15,000 Stores Step Up to Help Save Dogs’ Lives

After hearing from PETA, major national chains, including CVS, Albertsons, and AutoZone, have taken action to prevent dogs and children from dying in hot cars by posting signage, playing public service announcements over their public address systems, and enacting new campaigns to spread awareness. Some of the largest property management companies in the U.S.—such as Simon, Brookfield Asset Management, Macerich, CBL & Associates, Regency Centers, Phillips Edison & Company, and Vestar—have also designed and posted warning signs in their parking lots. We urge people never to leave dogs or children in hot cars and to take action when they see someone in distress. Urge Walmart to join these companies in helping to prevent heat-related deaths.
