Federal Judge Signs Order Agreeing With PETA That Declawing Exotic Cats Violates Endangered Species Act

PETA made huge progress toward ending the cruelty inherent in big-cat cub encounters. In addition to filing a lawsuit against Wildlife in Need over its abuse of big cats, we sued the roadside zoo’s veterinarian, Dr. Rick Pelphrey, for mutilating big cats by declawing them. PETA secured a first-of-its-kind consent judgment that creates a legal precedent that declawing endangered or threatened cats without medical necessity violates the Endangered Species Act!
