North Carolina Black Bear Festival Is Now Animal-Free

The North Carolina Black Bear Festival is making it clear that animal-exploiting businesses are a thing of the past, because it just committed to going animal-free! This compassionate decision came after talks with PETA about the suffering inherent in bear shows—the festival hosted a captive-bear display last year. Now, instead of watching captive bears who’ve been carted to different cities to be put on display, people will learn about these animals in a way that’s truly educational and humane through expert presentations, a museum, and tours of their natural habitat.
