Wisconsin Farmer Is Charged With 75 Misdemeanors for Neglect

When a farmer was found to be involved in the neglect and starvation of 100 sheep, lambs, and cows, the sheriff in St. Croix County, Wisconsin, was reluctant to recommend charges. PETA sent a letter to the district attorney urging him to prosecute the man on cruelty-to-animals charges. As a result, the farmer was charged with 25 misdemeanor counts of failing to provide food and water to confined animals; 25 misdemeanor counts of improper shelter; and 25 counts of unlawful deposit of animal carcasses. Keep other animals safe from this fate by choosing a vegetarian diet.
