Do you have what it takes to be PETA’s 2016 Sexiest Vegan Next Door? Modeled after PETA’s iconic Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity contest—which has featured such vegan notables as Anne Hathaway, Joaquin Phoenix, Carrie Underwood, Bill Clinton, and Alicia Silverstone—the annual contest shows that gorgeous men and women who are meat-, dairy-, and egg-free are, on average, fitter and healthier than meat-eaters are, and that makes them sexier, too. One male and one female winner will each receive a one-week trip for two to Hawaii, including round-trip airfare.

“Vegans are slimmer and healthier and have more energy than their meat-eating peers, on average—plus there’s nothing sexier than compassion,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “Everyone who enters is already a winner for eating delicious, healthy foods that didn’t harm a hair, feather, or fin on an animal’s body.”

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—notes that vegans obviously have big hearts, but studies show that they have healthier ones, too. In addition to slashing their risk of developing heart disease, vegans are less prone to suffering from cancer, diabetes, and obesity. And here’s a special note for meat-eating men: If you want to cut your chances of coming up short in bed, you might want to trade those Big Macs for veggie burgers. That’s because the cholesterol and saturated fat in meat and other animal foods can clog arteries and slow the flow of blood to all the body’s organs.

Entrants must be U.S. residents and at least 22 years of age. Previous finalists and winners are ineligible to enter. The entry round ends on March 11. On April 11, PETA will announce 20 finalists—determined by a PETA panel—and voting will open to the public to help PETA determine whom it should select as the winners. Voting will close on April 29. PETA will select the winners based on several factors, including vote count. See the full contest details here.
