Live-Animal Market Ordered to Stop Selling Live Frogs Bound in Netting

After PETA received a report that an Asian market was selling live frogs tied up in individual netted bags, unable to drink, eat, or even move, we got local law-enforcement officers to investigate. They found no frogs on the premises, but the store admitted that it had been containing frogs in that manner to keep them from jumping out of the tanks. Law-enforcement explained this was illegal and that the store would face charges if it happened again. During their discussion, the staff stated that they would most likely simply stop selling live frogs altogether to avoid the hassle and potential violations! PETA will have activists keeping a close eye on the store to make sure that frogs don’t appear again.
