Oklahoma Elephant Abuse Exemption Bill Dies

After hearing from PETA and our members and supporters, the Oklahoma Senate allowed H.B. 3281—the Endangered Ark Foundation Preservation Act—to die without calling it for a vote. This insidious bill would have protected trainers caught abusing elephants from prosecution under the state’s cruelty laws and was designed to benefit the Endangered Ark Foundation—a misleadingly named elephant-entertainment facility connected to the notoriously cruel Carson & Barnes Circus.
