Italian superstar Elisabetta Canalis bares all for PETA's iconic anti-fur campaign and proudly declares that she'd rather go naked than wear fur. Canalis stripped down and stars in a sexy PETA ad to help spread the word about the cruelty involved in fur. "I decided to go nude because I think that nudity always creates a big reaction," she explains. "That is what is required to keep people's attention on such a brutal practice …. These poor animals are electrocuted, skinned alive, drowned, and bludgeoned just for the sake of fashion."
Every fur coat, vest, hat, or fur-trimmed accessory causes animals an immeasurable amount of suffering. Foxes, minks, rabbits, and even dogs and cats are bludgeoned, stomped, electrocuted, and gassed to death, and many are skinned while still alive. You can help put an end to this unimaginable cruelty by choosing never to buy or wear fur or fur trim. Check out PETA's cruelty-free clothing guide for tips on how to show off your style—without hurting any animals.

"Don't buy fur," Canalis urges. "Even a little trim—your gloves or your bag or your jackets …. You must remember that animals don't have a voice. You must be their voice. Never be afraid to speak up."

How about instead of banning the practice (which is near impossible), how about campaigning to promote more humane ways to get the fur pelts from animals? Eventually, it could lead to results that at least achieve half of the plan, right? Think about it this way- humans have always used animals as a resource. Always. We're not going to stop because of a picture of a naked woman and a nice, idealistic article. You need to strike people right in the core, and honestly, porn is no more than entertainment. Find something more deep please. This is 'prance around naked to stop animal suffering.' I have another question for turning the while world vegan and such. What do we do with that build-up of 16 billion animals every year? Keep them as pets? Not many people want pugs for pets thank you very much. I'd like to see plans for the future as well as plans for today, because I see the idealism as unrealistic. I want to know exactly what kind of world we'd end up with if we go with these plans. And until you can show me, and make me feel it's irrevocably the right thing to do, I'm not giving up meat, nor will I give up anything else. I will fight to make the process more humane, but I will not end it. Think. What world will the end bring?
I have never worn fur and will never wear FUR, these people in the FUR industry and those who Skin Animals are EVIL.
I agree 100% with GRADY(9-23-11) and CutesKitten (9-11-11) concerning the excessive use of nudity in PETA's campaign. I am a vegan and will always be, but what made me quit meat was 1)witnessing my best friend and loveliest cat, JJ, having to be put to sleep, 2)the videos posted by Mercy For Animals on animal farming, and 3)the valuable articles and campaigns from WSPA-USA web-site. Animals are sentient biengs just like we, humans. Yes, PETA, keep it safe and accessible for both young and old, children and adults.
