Xenia, Illinois, Takes Steps to Protect Ducklings

Ducklings were dying inside a newly renovated pond at Shawnee Park in Xenia, Illinois. The ducklings were following their mother into the pond but weren’t able to scale the vertical walls to get out, likely causing them to perish from exposure or exhaustion. The city promptly and compassionately responded to concerns by installing “Ducklings Only” ramps.
