Victory: Spain’s Octopus Farm Plans Scrapped

In a major win for animals, plans to build the world’s first commercial octopus farm in Gran Canaria, Spain, have been abandoned. Thanks to thousands of people who wrote, called, and spoke out in opposition, including PETA supporters around the world, countless octopuses will be spared a lifetime of suffering. Octopuses are highly intelligent and sensitive; they can solve puzzles, use tools, and learn by observing others. We’re celebrating this move that stopped exploitation before it started.
