United Airlines Adopts Policy Against Shipping Primates to Laboratories

Following a vigorous PETA campaign that included tens of thousands of e-mails, phone calls, and social-media messages as well as international public protests, United Airlines adopted a policy banning the transport of monkeys and other primates to laboratories. Prior to the start of the campaign, United merged with Continental Airlines, which did ship monkeys destined for cruel and deadly experiments. United’s compassionate new policy ensures than neither company will send monkeys to laboratories to endure pain and misery.
